Honestly it's not too bad. The reviews online scared me a bit but the room was cheap and super close to downtown so we took it anyways. First impression: The staff was really nice. They were really polite and had alot of knowledge about to area. Second impression: The room was... a room! Fridge, bed, lights, tiny soap, all the needed stuff. We had to cut the ac on when we got there, there was a drawer missing in the dresser, and the bathroom wasn't unbearable. No one bothered us and the check in/out was smooth and we didn't catch any weird diseases from the sheets so I would say it went well. Seriously, yall need to lower your expectations with cheap hotels. It's cheap. You did it to save money and you get what you pay for. Humble yourself.

I visited Birmingham over a week ago for the Magic City Classic, and I wanted to find a decent hotel as close to Legion Field as possible to crash for the weekend (this hotel is less than 10 minutes away from the stadium). The customer service was pretty good -- the guy who checked me in was nice and professional. The room was spacious, the bed was fairly comfortable, and all of the electrical appliances (refrigerator, microwave, lamps, etc.) worked just fine. The location was safe and quiet, so I never felt threatened. Overall, this hotel served its purpose for what I needed, and I didn't have much to complain about. When I visit Birmingham again in the future for the Classic, or any other events near the downtown area, this is a place I will consider. It may not be perfect, but you can do a lot worse.

We stayed here while my had surgery at UAB. I was there for 11 days. It was CLEAN, no bugs. The staff was amazing. They helped me with what my mom needed. While she was in hospital they asked about her everyday and made sure I was comfortable. Mitch and Alex are awesome. We stayed in room 118. UAB is real easy to get to from there it takes longer to park than to get there. I didn't have to worry about anything but seeing my mom everyday. Now it's not fancy but it's clean had a refrigerator and microwave, that's all I needed for daily living. Sleeping, eating and showering. The staff is amazing.

I had never stayed in downtown much less the Tourway. The rooms were okay, the water was hot, it had an apartment refrigerator & a microwave. Nice for a weekend and the location was good. The front desk staff was nice and accommodating. No complaints

I am not sure why this hotel got so many bad reviews but the location and the room that we stayed in was excellent. We stayed in Room 112 and the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was hot. I also did not see one bug. Even the outside breezeway was clean. Also the freezer/fridge combo was so cold. So don’t be alarmed by the bad reviews. I was skeptical at first myself but upon entering the room my opinion changed. So give it a try. Thanks Tourway Inn for your service. Will stay again if we are back in the area.

Much better than the current valuation! Maybe there are worse rooms, but the one I stayed in, was perfect, no issues at all. Clean, no bugs, comfy bed, all fine. The owner is a very friendly Indian man, very kind, I was hesitating but then I was happy I stayed here. Good value for the money, you get the same amenities as in any other motel of those big chains.

Great Stay Right Off I-20! I was there for a conference, and the convention center was just a mile and a half from the location. This place is just right off I-20, which makes it a convenient stop if you are passing through Birmingham or if you have something to do in the downtown. I think the price is affordable, and the rooms are definitely worth it—clean, comfortable, and well-kept. What I loved most was the open layout of the property. It has a spacious, relaxed vibe that gives you a real sense of freedom, which was a nice break from the usual cramped hotels. Plus, the management is genuinely friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. A big shout out for Sam, the manager and owner of the property, who will go out of the way to help you and make your stay a pleasant one. If you’re looking for an affordable place with good energy and easy highway access, this is a solid choice.

We were here a few weeks ago for the National Speech and Debate Tournament downtown. We stayed for seven days total. My students were a little afraid since this is a motel and not a hotel that they were accustomed to. Our fears melted away after a couple days. For the price, this was an excellent place to stay. The staff was very friendly and might I add, patient with us. Almost anything we asked for, they provided if it was within their means to. The rooms overall were clean, and well kept while we were away for our tournament rounds. Very quiet at night and they made sure to keep it that way. My students and I always got a good night sleep. It was walking distance from some of the downtown events and especially some of the civil rights monuments. The only downside was the tropical storm that hit during the week. Still, I had a very pleasant stay and greatly appreciate everything the staff did for us.
